Woven Wrap Sizing

Wrap sizes don’t work in the same way as clothing.

Size numbers refer to the length of the woven wrap- the larger the number, the longer the wrap.

Each size is 50cm (20”) longer than the previous size.

SIZE 1 = 2.2M (7’2”)
SIZE 2 = 2.7M (8’8”)
SIZE 3 = 3.2M (10’ 8”)
SIZE 4 = 3.7M (12’)
SIZE 5 = 4.2M (13’8)
SIZE 6 = 4.7M (15’4”)
SIZE 7 = 5.2M (17’)
SIZE 8 = 5.7M (18’7”)
SIZE 9 = 6.2M (20’3”)

Each length offers different options for tying, so there isn’t a single size that will ‘fit you.

Your body size will determine how big a wrap you need for tying each specific carry. For example, the Front Wrap Cross Carry is a popular starter carry. Some people will be able to use a size 6 for this carry, but others may need a longer (or shorter) wrap depending on their body and baby size.

I bought a size 2 Bifrost Starmap on a whim and when it arrived, it immediately had my heart. I’m not normally a rainbow person, but I’ve always adored the Starmap pattern (Team Starmap!). The colours are bright and gorgeous, and the wrap was thick but softened quickly with use. It held up really well as my base-4 shorty – in No No No hip carry, and shepherd’s with a bunched chest pass even. I loved it so much I bought a size 6 when they had a second run. It’ll be with us for a long time I think. It just keeps getting cuddlier while being great support for my heavy toddlers.

I am now a happy owner of Bifrost Starmap in size 8. This is my first Firespiral and I am so happy I decided to try it out.
At first, the beautiful appearance of the wrap made me so delighted and after the first wash I was in a hurry to get to wrap with it.
My wrappee is 3yo and quite heavy for her age. We used double hammock with cccb and oh how good it felt. Wouldn’t have believed I was carrying such a heavy child, it felt so easy and weightless. This wrap convinced me with it’s wq’s very quickly.
I believe that this wrap will break in easily and we’ll definitely recommend our babywearing friends to give a chance to Firespiral Slings wraps. Your brand is not as known here in Finland as I think it should be.

This wrap is simply amazing. It’s the perfect thickness, breaks in quickly and easily, the colors are to die for. I would like to have one in every size. I went with 5 as I had enough 6 and 7s but I would definitely love to have this in a 7 as well. It would make a great shorty wrap too. You just can’t go wrong with it. It’s fun to play with using different carries to see where the colors end up on you and your wrappee’s bodies. I love the weave as it’s not very prone to pulls. The only thing I don’t love is the graduated color change, which is somewhat jarring when viewed close up but from a few feet away you don’t even see it anymore. Now considering getting a blanket too!

My second wrap in base +2, bought to wrap my preschooler when emotions get too big! She also loves to use it as a cuddle blanket and a hammock!
The rainbow colours are so vibrant and vivid. It’s soft but strong and sturdy and feels supportive of my 4-year-old. I love the rainbow shining through on a fancy finish.

My first firespiral, and my son’s favourite wrap! It is truly stunning and can carry easily a toddler or a young baby once it’s broken in (which is not very difficult). With time I started prefering thinner wraps, but I can’t help to love this one. Even at its over 300gsm, it’s has a soft and airy feeling!
