Here at Firespiral we have specialised in making woven wrap slings since 2012. One wrap will take you from newborn through to toddlerhood and beyond, and can be used in multiple ways.

Woven wraps are multi-purpose, stylish and long lasting carriers that can be tied to perfectly suit your your individual needs.

Our wrap slings are woven and sewn here in Lancashire, using ethically sourced materials and sustainable manufacturing processes. We carried our own children (six of them between our two families) and have blended our practical experience of babywearing with our technical understanding of weaving and design, to create beautiful wraps that are easy and comfortable to use.

Ready to start wrapping?

All you need to do is:

  1.  Make sure that your wrap is ready to use. You should wash a brand new wrap before you start, so that it isn’t in loomstate.
  2. Decide what carry to do. All carries involve wrapping the cloth around you in some way, tightening the cloth around you and your baby, then fastening it off so that it is secure. You need to make sure that your wrap is the right size for the carry you want to tie.

There are lots of tutorials that give you step by step instructions for each carry.
A common first carry is the front wrap cross carry (fwcc) which is done with a long wrap- usually a size 6 or 7. You can work out the correct size for you to use by calculating your ‘base size’.
